Description
We're seeking a Advanced Registered Nurse, Med/Surg Department responsible for being a capable clinician who has acquired broad experience in caring for patients and has developed a sound understanding about the care of a particular patient population and routinely uses acquired knowledge, theory, research and experience to respond to changes in clinical situations. This RN professional can apply the Synergy Model for Care in practice and use this knowledge to personalize care for each patient/family while serving as a resource to colleagues and strong advocate for them. This individual will:
- Recognize a highly skilled clinician with in-depth knowledge of a specific patient population; consistently provides effective, efficient, and dependable care using the nursing process.
- Considers clinical, organizational, and patient/family factors to develop and adapt individualized care plans for optimal outcomes.
- Demonstrates advanced assessment skills and anticipates the impact of nursing care on patient outcomes, modifying interventions based on experience and patient needs.
- Communicates skillfully with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams; anticipates communication barriers and role-models effective listening.
- Functions in a leadership role (e.g., Charge Nurse), serves as a resource to peers, and orients new staff or students when needed.
- Values multidisciplinary input, promotes team cohesion, and adapts interpersonal approaches to respect cultural differences and family values.
- Accurately documents the nursing process and contributes to improving documentation methods and clinical pathways.
- Participates in the development or revision of policies and procedures using the latest research and evidence-based findings.
- Advocates for patients, challenges ineffective systems, and resolves complex issues independently while knowing when to escalate.
- Commits to personal accountability, growth, and maintaining professional standards, including clinical lattice (PLAN) requirements and Synergy model application.
