MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Works closely with the research program coordinator to fulfill the requirements of the research program.
Participates in the design, implementation, and completion of individual studies within the research program.
Publishes and presents research results and other material relevant to the research program in appropriate forums, including refereed journals and national meetings.
Collaborates with other members of the research and clinical staff on research problems of mutual interest that further the general goals of the research program.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Apply additional training and experience, to become an independent researcher.
Apply knowledge of the relevant literature and research procedures.
Apply knowledge of mathematics, statistics, and computer applications appropriate for the field of interest.
Communicate concisely, both orally and in writing.
Work well with other professional personnel and with support staff.
Train, supervise, and evaluate research assistants and technicians.
Travel as necessary to attend meetings.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ph.D. or equivalent degree in an appropriate discipline and strong research potential, as indicated by completion of a research-oriented training program required.
Active participation in research leading to publications in refereed journals and/or presentations at national meetings required.
If employed in the Cognitive Neuroscience department, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of transfer or hire required.
If employed in the Cognitive Neuroscience department, Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) certification within 30 days of transfer or hire required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, EQUIPMENT USAGE, WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Position is relatively sedentary in a normal office administrative environment involving minimum exposure to physical risks. Will use office equipment such as a computer/laptop, monitor, keyboard, and a general workstation set-up. Subject to hazards: includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, exposure to high heat or chemicals.
