Controls Hardware Design Lead
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer with a strong background in electrical and pneumatic engineering. In this role, the applicant will primarily focus on designing electrical and pneumatic control systems for industrial automation equipment. The applicant will be responsible for ensuring the quality, suitability, and functionality of the system designs.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design electrical control systems based on a scope of work using industry standards and principles.
- Review and interpret quotes, customer specifications and scope of work documents.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain project timelines and critical path milestones.
- Work with the engineering team to ensure hardware designs are completed within budget.
- Maintain task lists and reports of open items.
- Maintain project design documentation and prepare customer deliverables.
- Ensure the controls engineering process is tracked and followed throughout the project.
- Delegate design work to hardware designers.
- Track, check and review work done by hardware designers.
Education and Experience:
- Electrical engineering degree (BSEE) preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Controls Engineer.
- Experience working as a team leader.
- Working knowledge of industry standards, including NEC/NFPA, OSHA, and ANSI.
- Knowledge or education in electrical circuits, schematic reading, design, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with electrical CAD systems, such as AutoCAD Electrical and/or ePLAN.
- Experience with electrical and pneumatic circuit design.
- Experience in system design with Rockwell Logix 5000 family processors.
