Job Overview:
The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is seeking a Senior Copywriting Specialist to support and execute copywriting efforts in support of our marketing campaigns. This role will focus on crafting compelling, targeted, and audience-appropriate content that enhances the IIA’s brand presence and drives engagement across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in internal audit or similar industries, be well-versed in marketing strategies, and have a knack for converting complex ideas into persuasive and concise copy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Creation: Develop high-quality, engaging, and persuasive copy for a variety of marketing initiatives, including email campaigns, landing pages, brochures, newsletters, social media posts, and website content.
- Campaign Strategy Support: Collaborate with the senior copywriting manager and creative, digital, and product/channel marketing teams to support strategic campaigns, ensuring messaging aligns with the IIA’s brand guidelines and voice.
- Brand Messaging: Ensure that all copy is consistent in style, quality, and tone of voice while maintaining the integrity of the IIA’s brand across all platforms.
- Audience Engagement: Write copy that effectively engages internal audit professionals, business leaders, and other key stakeholders, focusing on driving membership growth, event participation, and certification enrollment.
- SEO and Digital Content Optimization: Optimize copy for SEO to enhance search engine visibility and performance of marketing campaigns.
- Proofreading and Editing: Review and refine content produced by other team members, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and grammatical precision.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (marketing strategy, design, digital marketing, product development) to ensure integrated and cohesive messaging.
- Market Research: Stay updated on trends within the internal audit profession and marketing best practices to drive innovation and effectiveness in campaign messaging.
- Metrics and Performance: Monitor the performance of campaign content, adjusting copy as needed to improve conversion rates, engagement, and other key performance indicators.
Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Advertising, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
- 2+ years of professional copywriting experience, with a preference for candidates with experience in the audit, risk management, or related industries.
- Proven experience developing copy for marketing campaigns, especially within professional services or member-driven organizations.
- Strong understanding of SEO principles, digital marketing, and content strategy.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Familiarity with marketing automation platforms (such as HubSpot, Marketo) is a plus.
