JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Housing, Foods, and Ancillary Services Supervisors administer and oversee housing/food operations at specific Commonwealth Campus locations. The Supervisor’s primary responsibility is to provide a safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained living and working environment for students, families, staff, etc.
Administer and oversee residential and retail food services and housing facility operations at specific Commonwealth Campus locations; act as liaison between Housing/Foods, various University departments, and external customers/vendors
Provide a safe and secure residential and working environment; ensure compliance with safety and operational standards, food quality control procedures, and regulatory inspections; report and correct deficiencies; prepare for and respond to critical incidents
Execute environmental stewardship in all operational areas; project, schedule, and oversee equipment and facility maintenance; participate in renovations and upgrade projects; recommend equipment purchases; as directed, consult with contractors, architects, facility planners
Under management guidance and direction, research, develop, market, and implement new products, menus, recipes, concepts, and process efficiency improvements
Maintain supply, key, and equipment inventory; place orders, negotiate prices, and make purchases; resolve quality and quantity disputes
Review and analyze budgetary items; identify and propose business growth and cost containment opportunities
Create a student-centered work environment through residential community involvement; engage with students, student groups, athletics, academic leadership, parents, conference participants, camp attendees; provide timely response to inquiries; follow-up/escalate as needed
Hire, train, coach, schedule, supervise, and evaluate assigned employees; communicate and enforce standards
Follow Collective Bargaining Agreement provisions; participate in grievance procedures, hearings, and arbitrations as required
Participate in departmental and University-wide initiatives and committees; complete special projects and reports as assigned
Education and Experience:
Minimum requirement is a Bachelor's degree plus six (6) years of relevant experience. Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
