JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Nursing Care Assistant I in our Duke GI-Endoscopy at Brier Creek located in Durham, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Escort family members from waiting room to the Endoscopy Recovery Bay assigned to their family member.
- Escort patients via wheelchair upon discharge to the front entrance if needed to meet their drivers.
- Obtain refreshments for the patients as needed.
- Assist with the turnover of the Endoscopy Recovery Bays once patients are discharged, including cleaning of the stretcher, chair, computer, monitor etc. and placing clean linen on the stretcher.
- Re-stock recovery bays as needed with necessary medical supplies and linen.
- Assist patients to the restroom if needed.
- Maintain environment to meet Joint Commission, OSHA and Infection Control Standards
- Perform other duties delegated by the clinical nursing staff, the Nurse Manager or the HCA.
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Completion of a Level I or II Nurse Aide education program approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing or successful completion of the NC approved Nurse Aide I or II competency test.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
JOB HOURS:
The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
