Job Summary: The Lift Maintenance Technician 1 plays a vital role in keeping Eldora’s mountain moving. This entry-level position supports the Lift Maintenance team in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of all lift systems. Working alongside experienced mechanics and electricians, the Technician I assists with preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs while learning industry best practices. This role is ideal for a motivated, safety-focused team player who enjoys hands-on work, working outdoors, and building a long-term career in lift maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with Routine Maintenance: Support routine inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs on fixed-grip and detachable chairlifts, surface lifts, and conveyors under the direction of senior technicians and supervisors.
  • Support Preventive Maintenance: Participate in preventive maintenance programs to help ensure safety compliance and extend the service life of lift equipment.
  • Assist with Repairs & Inspections: Support specialized repairs, equipment upgrades, and annual inspections while working alongside experienced technicians and external contractors as needed.
  • Document Work: Accurately record maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Follow Safety & Maintenance Protocols: Learn and follow established maintenance procedures, safety standards, and emergency response protocols through hands-on training and supervised work.
  • Coordinate with Operations: Work collaboratively with Lift Operations to support safe, reliable lift operation and minimize downtime.
  • Ongoing Learning: Participate in training to remain informed on lift maintenance best practices, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Hands-on Skill Development: Hands-on and developing proficiency in fundamental maintenance procedures and lift components.
  • Active Participation: Actively participates in maintenance tasks through direct involvement and guided instruction.
  • Increasing Independence: After repeated instruction and field experience, performs basic procedures competently and with increasing confidence.
  • Developing Troubleshooting Skills: Completes assigned tasks under supervision while beginning to develop basic troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge Retention & Application: Expected to retain and apply knowledge, assisting in daily maintenance while building technical skills.
  • Safety Culture: Adheres to all company safety policies and procedures, actively contributing to a safe working environment for self, coworkers, and guests.

This includes choosing alternative transportation, carpooling, using the employee shuttle, and avoiding onsite parking on weekends and peak days. These actions help reduce Scope 3 emissions, lead by example, and ensure adequate parking for guests.
  • Scheduling Requirements: Must be able to work weekends and holidays as required by resort operations.
