Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med) invites applications for the role of Manager, Clinical Administration. This position reports to the Senior Director, Clinical Administration and directly supervises administrative staff for UNR Med clinical departments.  

The Manager, Clinical Administration provides support to the Senior Director and clinical department Chairs in financial, human resources and administrative operations across UNR Med’s clinical departments. The Manager supervises the staff that oversee the daily administrative operations of UNR Med’s clinical departments, ensuring efficiency and coordination with other, nonclinical UNR Med offices and our clinical affiliate (Renown Regional Medical Center). This role supports strategic planning and project execution in collaboration with the Senior Director and other leadership. The Manager is responsible for monitoring the personnel needs of UNR Med’s clinical departments to ensure administrative functions are adequately met, ensuring alignment with department budgetary guidelines, and supports department IT requests and facility needs.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of detail orientation and accuracy, particularly as it applies to operational efficiency and policy compliance in healthcare, finance and/or public sector operations. Supervisory experience should include managing teams of 6 or more direct reports with an emphasis on effective communication skills, process management and a flexible approach to change. The ability to build relationships internally and externally with stakeholders of varying specialties and backgrounds will be key to success in the role. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and two years of related work experience OR

Master’s Degree and one year of related work experience.

Related Experience: Direct management of staff, budgets and accounting experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in clinical administration
