About the role

The Role
Moderna is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to drive project and program management of network and infrastructure improvement initiatives at Moderna globally. We’re looking for someone with a high level of integrity and personal accountability, strong interpersonal skills, and infrastructure technology domain expertise. 

Here’s What You’ll Do

  • Program Management – take a structured, data-driven, and risk-based approach to program scoping, execution, and reporting

  • Kick off and successfully manage multiple, simultaneous, complex, high visibility workstreams with full ownership, effective collaboration, and good process

  • Build processes, templates, and structure, or leverage existing ones as appropriate

  • Manage vendors, schedule, scope, and cost

  • Measure program success (or lack thereof) and risks using data and facts

  • Provide balanced risk remediation strategies and recommendations and drive risk mitigation

  • Develop and maintain close stakeholder relationships and build influence to drive the appropriate outcomes across Moderna

  • Provide clear, accurate, consistent, and timely communications

  • Advance good infrastructure and security practices and culture

  • Network and infrastructure improvements – work with Network Engineering as well as Network Security, Cloud, Compute and Storage, Identity and Access Management, IT, Cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to manage and drive improvement projects in a structured and predictable manner

  • Lead and drive network service management improvements and process optimization initiatives, including network patch and vulnerability management.

  • Manage multiple initiatives in 2025/26:

  • Oversee the complete overhaul of Moderna’s wireless network infrastructure, ensuring modernized, scalable, and secure solutions.

  • Migration to a new on-call management model to improve coverage and response efficiency.

  • Standardize network monitoring and alerting systems across global infrastructure.

  • Rationalize network inventory to improve asset visibility and lifecycle management.

  • Support Compute and Storage initiatives as needed, ensuring alignment with broader infrastructure goals.

  • Actively contribute to creating a more inclusive culture and environment at Moderna; endorse, create, and maintain antiracist policies and processes

Here’s What You’ll Need (minimum qualifications)

  • 8+ years of program management experience, preferably in network engineering

  • Demonstrated technical depth, problem-solving capabilities, and stakeholder and vendor management skills

  • Technical background in network engineering, with a strong understanding of ITSM and Agile methodologies.

  • Experience in running programs within a cross-functional, global team of mixed engineering, architecture, and operations.

  • Ability to successfully scope and drive complex and multi-workstream programs in a structured, risk-considerate, data-driven fashion

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Hands-on experience with network technologies, including WAN, LAN, WLAN, firewalls, NAC, AAA, network monitoring, etc.

  • Influential, inclusive, and trusted partner compassionate to the needs and situations of all your stakeholders

  • Deep familiarity with ITSM frameworks (e.g., ITIL) and Agile methodologies (Kanban, Scrum) to manage complex network and infrastructure programs.

  • Experience driving structured, process-driven network transformation initiatives.

  • Ability to facilitate and manage Kanban workflows for engineering teams.

  • Knowledge of security and compliance standards relevant to network infrastructure operations.

  • Strong listener with the ability to deeply understand, ask the right questions, and proactively pursue constructive feedback

  • Experience with GxP environments and regulatory requirements

Under Washington State law, Moderna is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for the jobs covered by this description. Base compensation for these positions in Washington State range from $129,600.00 - $207,500.00.
