Position Summary
As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide therapeutic care that improves residents’ mobility, independence, and overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care as directed by the Physical Therapist
- Carry out treatment plans prescribed by the physician and therapist
- Document daily treatments and weekly progress notes
- Assist with rehab and patient care conferences
- Monitor and report patient progress and changes
- Educate residents, families, and staff on therapy programs and post-discharge care
- Assist with training of Restorative Aides
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized therapy environment
- Report equipment concerns and ensure proper maintenance
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program
- Active, unencumbered PTA license in South Carolina (required)
- Must maintain all continuing education and remain in good standing with the State Board
- Experience in a skilled nursing or rehab setting preferred
- Familiarity with PointClickCare (PCC) and Casamba preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Compassion for an underserved population
