Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with a robust background in federal projects to oversee the management and execution of high-profile initiatives. This role requires a dynamic leader capable of maintaining contract compliance, ensuring quality standards, and driving project success from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to excellence in project delivery. This is an onsite position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Represent the client professionally in alignment with contract requirements and deliverables.
  • Manage contracts for complex federal projects, including compliance oversight and detailed progress documentation.
  • Develop and implement strategies to align projects with business objectives, client requirements, and contractual obligations.
  • Oversee project planning and execution, managing scope, schedule, budget, and resources.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to schedule delays, cost overruns, safety, and unforeseen challenges.
  • Supervise project teams, subcontractors, and consultants, providing leadership and performance oversight.
  • Confirm adherence to contract terms, specifications, and quality standards through inspections and monitoring.
  • Lead safety and quality control initiatives to maintain a safe work environment and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Manage project budgets and financial performance, tracking costs and forecasting expenses.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and regulatory agencies to facilitate approvals and maintain compliance.
  • Resolve disputes and contractual issues, working with legal and project control teams.
  • Conduct commissioning management, construction schedule reviews, and project closeout coordination.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • As a condition of employment, candidate must be able to pass GSA Government Clearance Process.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 15 years of project management with some experience in the federal market
  • Certification in one or more of the following: Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect (RA), or American Institute of Architects (AIA).
  • Proven expertise in contract management and compliance oversight.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and teams effectively.
  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Project Management.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and Value Engineering (VE).
  • Experience in labor standards enforcement and subcontracting plan adherence.
