We are working with a client in need of a qualified Retail Business Systems Analyst to support a national retail client. This is a Contract-to-Hire position and the Contractor must have a strong background in retail merchandising / ERP / Inventory Control systems.

Project Length: 6 months plus

Location: Hybrid with combination of in-office and remote. Client is located in Egg Harbor Township, NJ (near Atlantic City).

Job Description

  • Collaborate with business unit subject matter experts to understand and document existing processes and business requirements.
  • Work across business stakeholders and technical application development staff to provide requirements gathering/documentation, problem solving, and process improvement expertise.
  • Leverage process improvement skills to not just document what people are saying but to understand why, and to dig deeper to identify root causes and develop solutions that integrate people, process, technology aspects.
  • Translates business needs into clearly defined, detailed, and documented requirements, functional designs, and system supplemental specifications for new automations and efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with system implementers to extrapolate and document technical issues.
  • Apply appropriate technical skills to resolve issues successfully.
  • Interface with stakeholders in an integrated team environment.
  • Provide technical support, training and technical documentation to staff members as needed.
  • Author technical documentation of processes identified by the business stakeholders.
  • Obtains appropriate level of signoff as needed.
  • Verifies that the delivered application requirements meet business objectives based on requirements & specifications.
  • Assist in the creation and development of internal and external training material.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems/ IT, or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience as a Business and/or Systems Analyst within the retail industry.
  • 3+ years’ experience with data flow and process mapping; experience with industry best practices e.g. Business Process Modeling Notation.
  • Lean/Six Sigma green belt required and demonstrated practical application of process improvement approaches and techniques.
  • Prior experience in a more technical development role would be preferred.
  • Experience in systems analysis and/or coding required with excellent documentation skills.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment in planning, organizing, and performing systems analyst tasks. Some independent judgment required in setting priorities of tasks among multiple assigned projects.
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to solve problems with a sense of ownership and innovation.
  • Experience in project management-related activities preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and good time management and organizational skills
