Job Duties: Vice President, Product Controllers with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Salt Lake City, Utah. Prepare and analyze credit default swaps (CDS), exotic options, and bond portfolios for the credit desk, for the U.S. desk. Prepare and review daily profit and loss (P&L) and analysis through structured reconciliation between front and back-end systems versus trader estimates. Compile the trading risk and market moves and provide required commentary. Undertake price verification for trading inventory, which includes verifying prices, model inputs, and valuation adjustments, and recalibrating to external prices. Report and validate trading desk balance sheets. Review Volcker and capital management for the desk. Perform analysis for new product launches, provide product control related requirements, and ensure these are complied with and delivered.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Accounting or related field. Employer will accept bachelor's degree equivalent based on single degree, combination of degrees, combination of degree(s) and/or diplomas and/or certification(s) / membership(s) / professional credentials, where determined to be equivalent to U.S. bachelor's degree by a qualified credential evaluation service. Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include three (3) years with: Valuing trading inventory where prices, model inputs and valuation adjustments are verified and recalibrated to external prices utilizing understanding of financial products; working with nuances of accounting for financial products, such as bonds, loans and CDS, and corresponding accounting concepts. such as accrual accounting and classification of reserves; ensuring compliance with FAS157, FAS161 and FVO disclosures applying understanding of financial disclosures on Bond, loan and Derivative products; ensuring accurate reporting of the metrics relevant to Credit Trading desk leveraging understanding of the Volcker federal rule; understanding and questioning Trading desk strategies; and analyzing impact to controllers on new product launches.
