The Memory Solutions Lab (MSL) is part of Samsung’s Memory Business Unit, the industry's technology and volume leader in DRAM, NAND Flash, SRAM memory. What You’ll Do
- Drive software and system performance and correctness throughout project phases
- Collaborate with colleagues and community with teams the internally and externally
- Work on shared tools and infrastructure to plan, collect, analyze and report performance data
- Train and develop skills within the team for performance analysis and optimization
- Analyze systems and code to understand performance and scalability aspects of system
- Define validation testing/QA plan and detailed test cases for engineering/customer samples,
- Perform system level functional validation testing, hardware/software quality testing and stability/reliability testing
- Improve validation test/performance benchmarking engineering process
What You Bring
- BS/MS Computer Science or equivalent with a minimum of 10+ years of experience of system programming, software design, development, & debugging or a MS in Computer/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science with 8+ years or PhD in engineering or related Science with 5+ years working experiences as Quality Assurance or Performance engineer in memory or storage technologies, data center system or cloud infrastructure
- In depth knowledge of CPU, memory, storage, and current computer system architectures and datacenter system performance metrics
- Hands on lab experiences of server/storage test set up, system validation testing, performance data analysis and debugging
- Software development in common programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Rust, Golang, etc. as well as Perl/Shell scripts with experience in test automation
- Experiences with performance benchmark tools and test suites (fio, mlc, sysbench, ycsb, Phoronix, pcm, etc.)
- Knowledge of kernel insights (scheduling, context switch, driver functions, DMA, numactl) and workload performance insights (system profiling/tracing, eBPF, D-Trace, flamegraphs, etc.)
- Must be highly motivated with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to meet aggressive project deadlines in a team environmentAbility to work successfully with cross-functional teams, including coordinating across organizational boundaries and geographies
- Linux Kernel/Driver/User Space application development experience
- Knowledge and development experience with CXL, PCIe/NVMe protocol
- Familiar to datacenter applications such as Big Data Analytics, LLM, AI/ML frameworks and Cloud database, e.g., MySQL, Apache Spark, Postgres, RockDB, MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, etc.
- Understanding of Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, VLAN, RDMA, RoCE, NVMeoF protocol
- Knowledges of low-level software and device drivers such as Firmware, Boot, BIOS/UEFI
