Assistant Director - Aircraft Maintenance

Job Description

• Reports to the Director of Maintenance.
• In the absence of the Director of Maintenance, is responsible for all maintenance and inspection functions and personnel.
• Assists in ensuring company aircraft are maintained in an airworthy condition and in the timely deferral or correction of aircraft discrepancies.
• Assists in ensuring all inspections, repairs, and component changes are accomplished in accordance with manufacturers or FAA approved procedures.
• Assists in ensuring compliance with maintenance procedures, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, service letters, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
• Assists in ensuring all maintenance technicians are trained and current on the appropriate types of aircraft, and that all maintenance technicians are certified and supervised according to the requirements specified in the Federal Aviation Regulations.
• Assists in coordinating with maintenance contracting agencies when maintenance activities are being performed on company aircraft.
• Assists in maintaining a close liaison with manufacturer's representatives, parts supply houses, repair facilities and the FAA.
• Assists in making available the necessary overhaul manuals, service bulletins, service letters, airworthiness directives, and any other required technical data.
• Assists in maintaining necessary work records and logbooks, including certification in the aircraft permanent maintenance records that aircraft is approved for return to service.
• Assists in maintaining all aircraft maintenance records. 
• Accompanies aircraft on flights as required in order to correct discrepancies.
• Travels to Aircraft Service Center Facilities as required to support ongoing Aircraft Maintenance Repairs.

Qualifications

• A minimum of (5) five years of mechanical experience.
• Experience in a managerial role.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must be willing to obtain and keep any licenses required to meet the minimum functions of your position.
