NOTE: This is a full-time in-person role based in the company’s headquarters in Miami, FL. Applicants must be available to work in Miami– Thursday, with work from home on Friday.
Position Summary
Facilities Maintenance Technician to provide support to the Port of Miami facilities location, and to other South Florida locations on a needed basis. Provides general handyman work, including light construction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs handyman work primarily for the Port of Miami locations, including but not limited to carpentry, painting, drywall and plaster repair, miscellaneous electrical work, minor plumbing repairs, door and window repair, and repairs to furniture and finishes.
- Performs minor electrical maintenance to include the changing of bulbs, ballast and rewiring of lamps.
- Prepares for special projects as far in advance as possible in order to meet deadlines and target cost
- Insures that complete and accurate records are kept of all maintenance activity, including labor time and material cost.
- Plans estimates, schedules and coordinates work orders to facilitate the efficient completion of requested work.
- Maintain equipment and materials accurate inventory
- Assists with office relocations and office setups for new and lateral hires.
- Assists with the planning of full floor moves and moves from one location to another
- Performs daily inspections and maintenance of office space and furnishings
- Develops a plan of action for major repairs and presenting it to the Facilities Manager/Superintendent for consideration and approval.
- Must be able to have a flexible schedule (nights/weekends) five days a week to attend to emergencies, if needed.
- Travel between all South Florida locations once or twice a week, if necessary.

Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- High school graduate
- Certificate in electrical/plumbing courses
- Must speak, read and, write English
- Spanish speaker desired
- Minimum five year of experience in related field and/or activities
- Light construction knowledge a plus.
- Must be a quick thinker able to examine a problem situation and come up with solutions in a prompt and professional manner.
- Exhibits excellent communication skills with customers, management, office personnel and fellow employees.
- Able to take direction from management and/or our field supervisor.
