The Role

The Director, Global Critical Environment (C.E. Dir.) is a global leadership role supporting a diverse workforce and corporate initiatives. The C.E. Dir. provides global oversight of key facilities management processes and contractors as the Kyndryl SME for critical environments. The C.E. Dir. leads a team of C.E. experts globally that provide support to the regional facilities operations teams that deliver data center and facility management services globally. The C.E. Dir. may interact and provide advice and counsel to other internal Kyndryl leadership stakeholders and clients as Kyndryl’s critical environment risk-manager.

Essential Skills, Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Opex & Capex budget development, reviewing change control procedures and compliance, critical environment emergency response, ad-hoc facilities engineering support and business continuity review; experience in these areas is required.

  • Global expectations include travel as required to support regional teams and occasionally the engagement of Kyndryl clients.

  • The C.E. Dir. is a key leadership position within Kyndryl’s management team that provides a 24-hour emergency response availability.

  • The C.E. Dir. will support a multinational datacenters portfolio.

  • Executive communication experience is required to support internal clients and occasionally external client management.

  • Experience performing operational risk assessment and management of activities that may potentially impact DC operations is required.

Required Skills, Experience and Circumstances:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related program or Project Management with relevant datacenters experience.

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in all aspects of datacenters FM operations and vendor oversight.

  • Prior management and leadership experience.

  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical competencies associated with datacenter infrastructure and equipment systems Operations and Maintenance. These include electrical substations, medium and low voltage systems operation, cooling plant operations and maintenance, Building Management systems (BMS) and fire life safety systems.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Competency in Critical environments risk management and the processes needed to mitigate risk while operating key critical infrastructure.

  • ·Competency in the MS Office suite of tools.
