About the role

The Role: 

As the Executive Director of Quality for the Alaska Region, you will be a pivotal figure within our Ministry and Regional leadership, driving efforts to deliver cost-effective, efficient, high-quality, and safe care in your service area. You'll establish strong connections between clinical and operational leadership, overseeing quality, performance improvement, analytics, risk and patient safety, and regulatory compliance.

Alaska Region: Alaska Medical Center, Kodiak Island Medical Center, Seward Medical Center, Valdez Medical Center, St. Elias Specialty Hospital, as well as 3 critical access hospitals and 3 LTC's.

What You'll Do:

Strategic Visionary: Collaborate with the Chief Quality Officer (CQO) and Regional Director of Infection Prevention to lead the development and monitoring of the Providence St. Joseph Health Quality Strategic Plan.

  • Clinical Excellence Advocate: Serve as a hands-on leader, driving sustainable improvements in clinical quality, patient safety, clinical risk management, infection prevention, and care experience.
  • Data-Driven Innovator: Utilize data to make meaningful contributions to regional quality and safety initiatives, and lead efforts in regulatory compliance, patient safety programs, root cause analyses, and failure modes and effects analysis.
  • Quality Pioneer: Spearhead future quality initiatives, guided by national benchmarking and evidence-based practices, to align local organizations with the broader strategic vision.

What You'll Bring:

  • Educational Background: Master's Degree in a healthcare-related field (e.g., Nursing, Public Administration, Business Administration).
  • Leadership Experience: At least 7 years in clinical leadership and 5 years in senior management within a large healthcare organization, with experience in The Joint Commission and DNV accreditation processes.
  • Interpersonal Excellence: A motivational leader skilled in engaging existing leadership, leveraging resources, and serving as a thought leader in clinical excellence.
  • Demonstrated Competence: Proven ability to develop and manage hospital quality programs, design clinical care systems with measurable outcomes, implement patient safety programs, cultivate relationships with physicians and ministry leaders, and utilize data to drive change.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
