Job Description
Primary Function of Position
The Accounting Business Process team is an innovative, results-oriented team within the Corporate Accounting Department. The Accounting Process Optimization Analyst will partner with business leaders, IT, Accounting, Finance peers, and teammates to drive process improvement efforts and new initiatives. The goal of this role is to understand pain points and gaps in the existing process, help strategize and analyze capabilities to improve existing processes, and make recommendations for solutions to enable and drive efficiency and quality across accounting and reporting process initiatives.
Essential Job Duties
- Understand the Company’s core accounting and reporting processes, and how they translate into the need for efficient, repeatable, and scalable business processes
- Analyze existing processes, including documentation of existing and future flows. Recommend process improvements to address corporate priorities and objectives
- Support the design and execution of “to-be” processes or major enhancements; Work with IT and SME’s to define and implement and re-design core accounting processes – document and refine business requirements, assess testing scope, creation of test scenarios and test scripts, execute user acceptance testing, and execution of implementation plan
- Partner with Controllership team to determine and define optimal approach of conducting finance data analysis
- Facilitate trainings thru creation of business process documents to accelerate the use of new technology, or processes
- Evaluate metrics to evaluate project success rate against defined success criteria
- Draft desktop procedures/work instructions to support the successful implementation of new projects or initiatives
- Assess and document controls risk and changes to controls during project or enhancements implementation. Present changes to stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience and expertise across end-to-end business cycles (Accounting close process or others)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail oriented, organized, motivated and able to function in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Strong written documentation
- Ability to handle ambiguity effectively and oversee multiple projects at once.
- Must be willing/able to work onsite 3 days/week in our Sunnyvale, CA office
Required Education and Training
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance/Information Systems is required
Preferred Skills and Experience
- A minimum 2+ years of experience related accounting or related field (experience in public accounting preferred)
- Microsoft Excel Automation tools (Alteryx, Power Query) is preferred
- SQL coding experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of controls processes and COSO framework preferred
- Knowledge of SAP (or other large ERP), Salesforce CPQ, and Tableau is preferred.
