Compensation Range: $90,000-$120,000 

Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.  

Job Purpose

This position plays a key role in the timely completion of EnerSys Americas Battery Power financial close, Operations and LoB reporting & forecasting processes, and drives & supports the physical inventory and annual cost roll processes.    

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure accounting entries and balances are properly recorded and reconciled.  Verify that information is accurately reflected in SAP, BaaN, and Hyperion systems as applicable. 
  • Manage and coach a team to effectively complete transactions and month end tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage and coach a team to proactively and effectively review cost related information & data for potential issues and / or corrective action and process improvements.
  • Monitor and support inventory, manufacturing variances, PPV, and FIFO for compliance and accuracy at designated plants, service centers, and distribution centers.
  • Communicate, escalate, and coordinate with staff, plant accountants, and segment leads to obtain and/or transmit information needed for budget, forecast, analysis, journals, reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
  • Review journal entries and reconciliations as applicable.
  • Determine proper recording of financial transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and US GAAP.
  • Assist in resolution and maintenance of intercompany issues. 
  • Guide and assist with the annual physical inventory count.  Review counts for service centers, distribution centers and consigned locations with the help of the team.  Update system and report on results.
  • Drive and support the annual standards cost roll.
  • Embrace the principles of lean and continuous improvement to make processes and procedures more efficient.
  • Provide support for SOX requirements, including review and maintenance of various corporate accounting processes and documentation.
  • Assist in the communication and analysis of financial information in support of internal and external audits.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT:  Travel may be required for special assignments and quarterly accounting reviews. Estimate: up to 5%

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in an accounting role, focus on manufacturing or corporate cost environment. (Multiple entity environment preferred)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Current knowledge of GAAP and SEC regulations over financial reporting and disclosure.
  • Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional manner when dealing with employees and management both inside and outside the finance department. 
  • Competent computer skills that include ERP systems and Microsoft Office, including Teams and OneDrive.
  • SAP experience preferred.  Baan or Hyperion (HFM) experience a plus
  • Ability to critically think and solve problems that deal with a variety of variables.
