Third Shift (United States of America)

APP - Vascular Surgery (Nights)

  • Inpatient only

  • Full-Time, 1.0 FTE (Exempt)

  • Third Shift: 12-hour shifts, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM

  • Schedule includes coverage across all days of the week, including weekends and holidays

Nebraska Medicine is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our Vascular Surgery Services night shift team. This inpatient role is based at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

The ideal candidate will have experience providing comprehensive inpatient management of medically complex surgical patients, with a strong background in critical care, vascular surgery, acute care, or hospital-based practice. Candidates should be comfortable managing complex patients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and providing care in a fast-paced inpatient environment.

Duties: APP - Vascular Surgery (Nights)

Provide comprehensive health care to individuals with vascular disorders in a surgical setting including peripheral arterial disease, carotid stenosis, aneurysms of the body (excluding cerebral and cardiac aneurysms), dialysis access, varicose veins, and vascular-based wounds.  Diagnose medical conditions, plan and implement interventions, and evaluate patient response in collaboration with vascular surgeons.  Perform and assist with diagnostic and therapeutic medical and/or surgical intervention.  

   

Required Qualifications: APP - Vascular Surgery (Nights)

Nurse Practitioner
• Master's degree in nursing from an accredited school/college of nursing required.

• Minimum of two years RN experience or equivalent combination of RN and nurse practitioner experience combined (two years of RN experience equals one year of APRN experience) required.

• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nebraska or current compact state required. 
• Currently licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN) required.

• Appropriate certification required based on position, department and population served:

Adult Inpatient

  • Adult Gerontology Acute Care (AGACNP-BC)

  • Adult (ANP-BC)

  • Family (FNP-BC)

  • Adult Gerontology Primary Care (AGPCNP-BC)

Adult Outpatient:

  • Adult Gerontology Primary Care (AGPCNP-BC)

  • Adult (ANP-BC)

  • Family (FNP-BC)

Physician Assistant

• Master’s degree from an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program OR bachelor’s degree with ten years of current active Physician Assistant experience and approval from the Director of the Office of Advanced Practice OR if bachelor’s degree with less than ten years current active experience sign a written agreement consenting to obtain a Master’s degree from an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program within three years from date of transfer or hire and approval from the Director of the Office of Advanced Practice required. 
• Ability to maintain Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours to meet State of Nebraska and NCCPA Certification by the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) [Or if new graduate, eligible for certification and certification completed prior to beginning to provide care] required.    

• Currently licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of Nebraska (or eligible for license prior to beginning to provide care) required.


Both Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant
