Assistant Principal 
 

The Opportunity: PLA Assistant Principals are instrumental in supporting PLA’s vision, which includes creating an environment of high standards for our staff and scholars.   As an Assistant Principal, you will work closely with the principal to manage all our campus functions, including education programs, office operations, scholar enrollment, personnel, and facilities.

As an Assistant principal, you will provide strategic leadership supporting the success and retention of our scholars and staff. You will assist the principal in the planning, coordination, and directing activities and programs related to the administration of our school. PLA leaders strongly believe in every scholar’s ability to succeed, and they work tirelessly to create a school experience that fosters success.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Current Administrator's License
  • Proven success as an instructional leader
  • Experience in turnaround work 
  • Entrepreneurial, positive problem solver with the ability to see opportunity in challenges
  • Clear judgment, a mature interpersonal style, and the ability to drive collaborative decision-making processes.


The Campus: PLA @ Bellingrath Middle School is located at 3350 S. Court St, Montgomery, AL 36105. We service about 500 students and believe that every student is a scholar. With the right education, scholars can fulfill their tremendous innate potential and become leaders in their communities and the world. In 2022, with the support of the Montgomery Education Foundation (MEF) and Phalen Leadership Academies (PLA), Bellingrath Middle School became a premier charter school in Montgomery, Alabama. We work together with parents and the community to improve the educational outcomes of our scholars and neighborhood families. Bellingrath Middle School exists to serve the local community and create a safe and thriving space for scholars to feel loved, empowered, and encouraged through quality education
