The department administers state laws and rules governing workers' compensation, occupational safety and health, financial institutions, insurance companies and building codes. The department has consumer protection and education programs, offices, and ombuds to help consumers, injured workers, and businesses.
This position is with the Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division (Oregon OSHA). Oregon OSHA is responsible for assuring safe and healthful working conditions for Oregon workers through promulgation and enforcement of Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, and by providing education and consultation to employees and employers.
This position is represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).

Due to the nature of the duties performed by this position, remote work is not available.
Here’s what you will do:
As a Field Office Coordinator, you will coordinate office functions for the Medfor Field Office in accordance with the Oregon Safe Employment Act. Duties include:
Processing inspection packets, citations, letters of correction action (LOCAs), and hazard letters
Maintaining office records including, but not limited to: inspection activity reports, referrals, extensions, confidential information, complaints, production, procedure and work reports
Receiving complaints and notices of hazards from field office staff, routing according to need
Responding to inquiries regarding the disposition of complaints
Assisting staff members with computer issues; user assistance, systems maintenance, and fixing problems
Typing varied and complex material for field personnel, including but not limited to documents, letters, memos, synopsis, accurately applying an understanding of language skills, punctuation, spelling, grammar, safety and health vocabulary

Here’s what you need to qualify:
Minimum Qualifications:
Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents
OR
An associate degree in any field
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience
Requested Skills:
Ability to be tactful and diplomatic in handling difficult personal contact and/or irate public
Proficient in word processing and data entry
Experience operating office equipment, such as a computer, calculator, postage meter, copy machine, fax m
