Supply Planner

PrimeSource Building Products, Inc. is one of the nation’s largest wholesale distributors of building supply products, has an immediate opportunity available for an experienced, reliable, and hard-working Supply Planner to join the team.

 

Manages a portfolio of products in terms of matching supply to demand, ensuring 95%+ on-time delivery to customers, while reducing stock outs at DC’s and Hubs and keeping inventory level optimized.

 

This position will be responsible following. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary:

• In charge of producing a weekly supply plan via SAP-APO based on the latest consensus demand plan for all active SKU’s
• Reviews overall supply situation or on assigned portfolio of products and be the central point of contact to communicate strategic supply plan to Hubs and DC’s to improve capacity
• Work with sourcing commodity management team to escalate supply shortages to executive management minimize disruptions to supply continuity.
• Provide inventory and service projections to commodity management team.
• Interface with Sourcing and Inbound Logistics to ensure supply timeliness and escalate issues with vendor delivery performance.
• Provide a rolling 6 to 12 month purchase forecast (by commodity / by supplier) to enable supplier to allocate adequate capacity to meet future needs
• Understanding of distribution processes and constraints, and setting supply parameters to drive availability (e.g., Lead Times, SS, MOQs etc.) in SAP
• Prepare supply constraints and recommend resolution scenarios for discussion in the cross-functional S&OP processes.
• Monitor and provide actionable feedback on supplier performance to commodity management team on a quarterly basis.
• Review and resolve any tactical inventory rebalancing of inventory between Hub and DC’s for key customers by working with distribution planning team members
• Evaluate impact of demand opportunities and risks

Qualifications:

 

Education:                                              

Bachelor’s degree 

 

Computer Skills:
Proficiency with Tier-1 ERPs (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics etc.) and Microsoft office suite.  Working knowledge of SAP APO

 

Preferred Skills:

Strongly data-driven and root-cause analysis focused mindset, process management and ownership.  Strong skillset to lead and facilitate meetings with a diverse audience, quickly synthesizing information to help drive consensus and actionable items.  Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with Demand Planning, Inbound Logistics & Sourcing team
