The Joint Trauma Analysis and Prevention of Injury in Combat (JTAPIC) program's mission is to inform solutions that prevent or mitigate injury during the full range of military operations, by collaborative collection, integration, analysis, and storage of data from operations, intelligence, materiel, and medical sources. JTAPIC exists to enable the prevention or mitigation of injuries to Service Members in the deployed environment. We achieve this through a multiservice partnership of organizations that combine key subject matter expertise. Through our partners, JTAPIC is able to examine deployed incidents and accidents in the combined context of intelligence, medical, operational, and materiel viewpoints. 
 
What is the position? 

The JTAPIC Medical Business Systems Analyst, located at the JTAPIC Program Management Office on Fort Detrick, MD, assists the JTAPIC Deputy Director in planning and execution of overall program objectives, manage specific assigned programmatic and analytical projects, and provide medical analysis and injury coding. 

 
What will I get to do?  
The Medical Business Systems Analyst is responsible for analytical and other projects, as directed, from inception through delivery of the final product or solution.  The projects managed may include generation of analytical products in response to Requests for Information (RFIs), push analyses to address issues identified during other analytical efforts, or projects directed by JTAPIC leadership to effect, manage, or control change to processes internal to Program Management Office.  Specific responsibilities include:  

  • Conduct medical record data abstraction to interpret and assess injury data from medical records and databases in support of all JTAPIC project areas.

  • Provide Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) coding of documented injuries on an as needed basis.

  • Assist in the development of processes for integrating medical information with the proper operational, intelligence, and materiel context.

  • Assist in the development of program plan elements, objectives, mission, and general approaches to be employed.

  • Assist in the development of policy and procedures to achieve timely and relevant deliverables.

  • Manage and serve as focal point for project area planning and execution to transform project level goals and objectives into deliverables that inform decisions.

  • Manage projects to provide RFI Response and other analytical products, as directed, to include:

  • Organize, facilitate, and participate in virtual and non-virtual collaborations (presentations, meetings, conferences, etc.) as applicable.

  • Provide assessments of key accomplishments and their impacts across project and program areas.


What qualifications do I need? 

  • US Citizen with active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum of five (5) years of work experience in the medical field.

  • Willingness to acquire and/or maintain a current COVID vaccination status.

  • Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS) or affirmed willingness to complete certification (at company expense) within six (6) months after hire.

  • Current residence within, or affirmed willingness to relocate to, daily commuting radius of Fort Detrick, MD.

  • Affirmed willingness to work full-time onsite at the Government Client’s facility.

  • Experience in conducting and/or managing analytical studies.

  • Experience in planning and executing projects from initiation through closeout.

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite of office applications, to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, etc.)

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, ability to interface with Senior military officers, managers, peers, and subordinates.
