Your Specific Responsibilities:

The individual in this position functions as a Medical Assistant at the Specialty Clinic Ringling site within the Sarasota County Health Department (SCHD).  Primary responsibilities will include providing comprehensive services such as obtaining vital signs, medical histories, venipunctures, as well as assisting providers with patient care, treatments, and procedures in the OB, HIV, Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD), Family Planning, Hepatitis Clinics. Clinical support, clerical support, and care coordination will also be required with this position. The job involves risk of exposure to blood borne pathogens.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of clinical procedures
• Customer service skills
• Interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of EHR
• Basic computer knowledge

 

Qualifications:

Minimum –

• Medical Assistant Certification; Florida Statute 458.3485

 

Preferred –

• High School Diploma

• Prior experience in fast paced Healthcare Clinic
• Bilingual
