About the role

As the Reagent and Consumables Production Planner, you will be responsible for implementing the planning strategies within operations. In this role, you will oversee the review and capture of the planning processes and procedures in line with the company quality system. The goal is to oversee the planning of production using lean methodologies to reduce delays and eliminate waste for reagent and consumable manufacturing.

This is an onsite role in our Ann Arbor, MI onsite.

As the Reagent and Consumables Production Planner, you will be responsible for implementing the planning strategies within operations. In this role, you will oversee the review and capture of the planning processes and procedures in line with the company quality system. The goal is to manage production planning using lean methodologies to reduce delays and eliminate waste for reagent and consumable manufacturing.

What you will accomplish together with us:

  • Maintain Bills of Materials, production routings, and production scheduling, working with the production lead, quality, product development, and operations teams.
  • Continuously improve processes to eliminate waste and create efficiency within the Value Stream.
  • Create and manage production schedules that support agreed forecasts and delivery target dates.
  • Ensure that production lead time is realistic compared with materials availability.
  • Identify and expedite shortages promptly.
  • Assist in supporting business functions through advice and problem-solving.
  • Communicate proactively with internal customers (purchasing, quality, production, and order processing teams).
  • Control the sequence and priority of materials and services for production cells across various products.
  • Work proactively with purchasing/sourcing to solve existing or anticipated material supply issues, including storage capacity planning.
  • Ensure that unforeseen procurement delays do not impact manufacturing timescales.
  • Create, analyze, and publish monthly team metrics.

What will convince us:

  • Associate degree in a business-related field with at least 1+ year(s) experience or High School/GED equivalent and 6+ years of manufacturing planning experience.
  • 3+ years' experience working in a manufacturing environment within a production company.
  • Experience working with an ERP system (preferably SAP).
  • Experience in materials management and production scheduling in a production environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experienced database usage/management.
