About the role

The Department of Orthopaedics is recruiting for an experienced Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join 14 Orthopedic Surgeons and 22 PA/NP's on staff. This person will work closely with one Pediatric Orthopaedic surgeon.  Major area of focus will be in Pediatric Orthopaedic Trauma/Surgery.  Basic duties may include: general clinic practice, emergency evaluations, post-op checkups, outreach duties, OR equipment set-up, first assisting, and rounding with in-patients.  The PA/NP will support the assigned surgeon with histories, physicals, casting, splinting, evaluations, treatment planning and post-op care. This role will work cooperatively with athletic trainers, physical therapists, nurses and support staff and share call equally. A Wisconsin license and completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program is required.

Must have completed an accredited program and be eligible to obtain a license to practice in our multi-state region with no restrictions or limitations.  Advanced practice clinicians work under the direct supervision of a physician.  Clinician staff may need to provide outreach service as part of their role in the system.  Teaching students, residents, fellows or clinical staff is cornerstone to our Medical Education philosophy and an expectation of all clinicians.
