Position Summary:

The Harvest Floor Team Lead oversees all Live Area and Harvest Floor operations, ensuring humane handling and harvest of all animals in accordance with USDA animal welfare standards. This role requires compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements, maintaining HACCP documentation, and delivering excellent customer service to farmers and haulers. A successful candidate possesses strong leadership skills, drives operational improvements, and demonstrates a commitment to producing high-quality meat products. They are proactive problem-solvers who seek continuous improvement while upholding industry standards.

Essential Job Functions:

• Ensure humane handling and harvest of all animals processed through the facility.
• Maintain proper staffing levels for the department.
• Enforce all safety protocols and practices.
• Prepare and analyze daily efficiency reports to ensure performance targets are met.
• Uphold quality assurance standards.
• Ensure lot traceability for all products.
• Verify HACCP documents per HACCP plan requirements.
• Monitor Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Apply Safe Quality Food (SQF) principles and train department employees accordingly.
• Collaborate with the HACCP Coordinator to ensure food safety compliance.
• Always deliver excellent customer service.
• Attend staff and department meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Non-essential Job Functions:

• Participate in ongoing training and professional development programs.
• Assist with industry audits and inspections.
• Support operational improvement initiatives beyond the harvest floor.
