About the role
The Claim Manager is the first line management position responsible for providing the leadership direction of a catastrophe Claim Team and achieving desired company results. The catastrophe Claim Team will handle moderate to highly complex claims. Direct conformity with the terms of each policy and in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, established standards, and procedures of the company. Will specialize in property and lead a team of catastrophe field adjusters. Will work in the field with adjusters and travel will be approximately 90 days per year.
In this primarily home-based role, you will spend 80% of your time (4+ days per week) working from home and/or in the field overseeing claims adjusters. On occasion you may be asked to travel to an office location for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, trainings, and culture events. Position Compensation Range:
$86,000.00 - $142,000.00Pay Rate Type:
SalaryCompensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.
Primary Accountabilities- Creates a collaborative, performance-driven work environment by facilitating and fostering trust, transparency, and inclusion. Works with team members to set clear goals, provide feedback, perform performance assessments, and support on-going development.

- Supports and environment of teaming where adjusters make decisions and close files within and outside of their assigned inventory. Foresees issues that may require intervention. Develops and shares innovative and effective solutions for dealing with problems, situations and conflicts.
- Complies with Unfair Claims Practices Acts and ensures handling of claims in good faith. Adheres to Local and Corporate Guidelines, Company Claim Bulletins, and the Company Code of Ethics. Responds to inquiries and handles complaints from individuals or their representatives, insurance departments, Consumer Affairs, and other agencies.
- Establishes, communicates, and implements departmental plans, objectives, and strategies.

Qualifications
- Three or more years property claims handling experience required
- Xactimate proficiency required
- Property claims leadership and/or other leadership experience is preferred
- Must obtain adjusters license, if not licensed
Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
- Demonstrated effective leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently at a location removed from immediate supervision.
- Solid knowledge of property casualty insurance/claim industry and regulatory environment.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex losses in situations that require tact, diplomacy, and persuasion under changing conditions.
- Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of office and field claim handling processes.
- Demonstrated thorough understanding policy language, coverages and underwriting intent.
- Demonstrated experience in a claim administrator, specialist, examiner, or role with equivalent exhibited knowledge, skills, and performance.
Licenses
- Valid driver's license required plus an acceptable driving record.
- Obtain state specific property casualty claims licensing as required.
Travel Requirements
- Catastrophe travel up to 75%.
Physical Requirements
Field Positions:
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like. This position may require employees to visit areas that have a higher hazard than a typical office such as customer homes, body shops, or other locations.
- Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
- Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
