This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As the Senior Corporate Fleet Manager, you will be a process-driven leader responsible for the strategic ownership and end-to-end lifecycle management of Blue Origin’s enterprise-wide vehicle and heavy equipment fleet. This senior role is critical to maturing our centralized fleet program, establishing full financial oversight, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and cost-effectiveness.

You will serve as the company's subject matter expert on all fleet-related matters, leveraging deep industry knowledge to drive change, forge exceptional vendor partnerships, and lead a compliant, fiscally disciplined program. This position requires a results-oriented leader with a proven history of building programs, developing talent, and the tenacity to implement new systems and processes in a complex, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Program Development and Leadership: Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Blue Origin's centralized corporate Fleet Management program, establishing standardized policies and processes for the entire asset lifecycle, from acquisition to disposal.

  • Regulatory Compliance and Safety: Serve as the primary program owner for Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) compliance. Lead cross-functional teams to ensure all vehicles, operator certifications, licenses, titles, tags, and safety programs (e.g., Smith Systems, OSHA standards) meet or exceed all regulations.

  • Strategic Sourcing and Financial Management: Direct the strategic procurement of all fleet assets and services through competitive bidding practices and expert negotiation. Leverage extensive rental equipment knowledge and accounting acumen to secure best-in-class terms, manage warranty recovery, identify optimal disposal outlets for aged assets, and deliver significant cost savings.

  • Technology and Systems Implementation: Oversee the implementation and management of our fleet technology stack, including fleet management software (Fleetio), telematics platforms (Trackunit), and dashcam services, to track assets, analyze data, and drive efficient decision-making.

  • Budget and Lifecycle Management: Develop and manage the fleet's capital (CapEx) and operating (OpEx) budgets, including asset acquisition/replacement planning and the management of fuel programs and service contracts.

  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate operational, financial, and compliance risks across the fleet, raising awareness and driving corrective actions for issues such as improper maintenance or hazardous material transport.

  • Stakeholder Management and Partnership: Drive change management across all Blue Origin sites, acting as a trusted partner to business units while championing the benefits of a centralized fleet operation.

  • Team Leadership and Talent Development: Build and lead a high-performing fleet management team by hiring and developing top talent and establishing an effective organizational structure. Foster a culture of excellence and actively participate in mentoring and growing talent within the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • College-level coursework in accounting, logistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate fleet operations or branch/district management within the equipment rental industry, with direct P&L responsibility.

  • Demonstrated experience in building and managing a robust DOT FMCSA compliance program.

  • Proven track record of leading large-scale procurement and competitive bidding processes for vehicles and equipment, resulting in significant, documented cost savings.

  • Experience selecting, implementing, and using modern fleet management software (e.g., Fleetio) and telematics platforms (e.g., Trackunit).
