At VCI Construction, LLC, as a Laborer II (Concrete Finisher) on our Telecom Underground team, you’ll take on advanced responsibilities in all phases of underground construction. What you’ll do
- Perform construction tasks including asphalt raking, asphalt rolling, loading, delivery, digging, and operating equipment
- Install underground telecommunications cabling
- Operate construction equipment, and maintain work areas
- Clearly communicate with all team members
- Complete daily production reports
- Help with site restoration efforts
- Perform work in all weather conditions
- Other duties as assigned
- Work independently with coworkers, customers, and others in places where interactions are unsupervised
- Provide accurate and reliable information to others in the company
- Requires a routine amount of driving for work, which must be performed safely
- Requires safe and responsible computer and related technology use
What you’ll need
- At least 18 years of age
- Authorization to work in the United States for this company
- 2+ years of experience operating construction equipment, utility trucks, or performing similar tasks
- A valid Class A commercial driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
- High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
- Strong ability to work independently and contribute in team environments
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed
- Ability to work safely in all weather conditions
- Effective communication skills and a proactive problem-solving approach
Physical abilities & exposures
- Routinely: work alone in remote locations and confined spaces with arms above shoulder level. Operate vehicles and heavy machinery. Perform tasks requiring fine hand motion, bending, stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting greater than 55 pounds
- Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard, and mouse
The wage range for Concrete Finisher (Class A License) is $24.00 - $30.00.
