Field Service Technician (USA)

KASTO Germany opened a branch in the Pittsburgh area in 1979. The fluctuating economic development in the USA resulted in this site experiencing both highs and lows – and the "Steel Belt", the region around the city with its then booming steel industry became a "Rust Belt" in times of crisis. Since the end of the 2000s, however, Pittsburgh has been on the rise again, with numerous technology companies settling in and around the city.

The American KASTO Inc. with around 40 employees and an extensive spare parts warehouse is also the contact for KASTO users in Canada. In 2018, the company inaugurated a new showroom with a Technology Centre in Chicago. Among other things, customers can see machines and digital solutions in advance there and carry out test cuts.

Tasks

• Responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting of automated storage and
  retrieval systems as well as saws
• Performing the above tasks in a safe and craftsman-like manner
• Work an electrical system, low and high voltage 24V to 480V
• Troubleshoot, change and install electrical components, motors, drives, HMI,
  PLCs as well as sensors and electronic actors
• Inspect, replace and install mechanical components like chains, sprockets,
  bearings and shafts
• Inspect, change and rebuild hydraulic components from hoses to valves and
  pumps or motors
• Performance of routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks on any
  of the machinery sold by KASTO
• Regions: Mid-West, Pittsburgh, North East, Carolinas
• FLSA Status: Non- Exempt

Requirements

• Experienced maintenance technician with past work experience
  in industrial systems and machinery, ideally in ASRS or metals sawing equipment
• Safe workmanship in regards to OSHA and LOTO procedures
• Ability to use and operate hand and power tools, as well as material handling
  equipment
• Experience in electronics, PLC, computer and industrial electrical work
• Ability to communicate with peers as well as customers the tasks required on
  hand
• Reliability in your performed work, as required by customers and by the
  employer
