Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is hiring a Radiology Technician to work FLEXI/PRN.

Hours/Shift: 

FLEXI rotating shifts.  Department open 24/7, will need to cover all three shifts (first, second and third).  

• Will be rotating in OR, fluoro, ER & pain management
• Day shift training will approximately be 1-3 months depending on experience 
• Call in rotation once training is done (generally 1-5 days per month)

Trade School Graduate - RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY

Experience :

None, unless noted in the "Other" section below

Licenses and Certifications Required: ARRT registry, Registry eligible graduate in lieu of ARRT, must obtain ARRT registry within 90 days of hire. Basic Life Support.

Job Summary

Conducts general diagnostic radiological imaging studies of patients, within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician, to include: positioning of patient for demonstration of correct anatomy/pathology, operation of radiation producing equipment, operation of the electronic Radiology systems and preparation of patient room/equipment/medications. Phlebotomy competency for lab may be required for certain sites that do both Radiology and Lab.

Qualifications:

TS - Trade School Graduate (Required)

ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) - Certifications - Other/National, Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI

Basic managerial experience of coordinating the work of others, Sound experience and understanding of straightforward procedures or systems
