Who are we looking for?
The Mixing Operator will utilize production equipment in accordance to the specified work instructions and accurately mix raw materials into liquid photopolymer to meet production schedules. You will be responsible for the respective equipment and tools and will have ownership for production and the quality of products.
What will you be doing?
- Manufacture resins, coating & cleaning fluids and emulsions, and packout with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Calculate materials required for jobs by performing mathematical calculations.
- Operate fork truck to obtain materials needed for production schedule.
- Unload tank trucks into storage tanks and totes.
- Observe all safety & environmental procedures. Encourage coworkers to do the same.
- Provide clear and timely communication, both written and oral.
- Maintain correct raw material inventories via cycle counting.
- Properly store and dispose of waste, both hazardous and non-hazardous.
- Initiate and track polymerization reactions with different end points.
- Perform viscosity testing to determine cap point
- Use QC data to determine ingredient adjustments to achieve final product specifications.
- Actively contribute to Continuous Improvement activities.
- Ensure high level of housekeeping.
Who are You?
- Must know how to operate mixers; pressure & vacuum pumps; manual and automatic valves; multiple industrial scales; container filling equipment both manual & automatic.
- Must be capable of fully understanding multiple batch formulations and executing instructions to manufacture and packout each of these formulations. Requires good math skills.
- Familiarity with PC controlled batching systems.
- Familiarity with EXCEL (Spreadsheets) and be able to enter data
- Must be able to lift 55lbs frequently (over 55lbs requires 2 man lift) and safely handle material in 55 gallon drums.
- Must be able to frequently climb stairs and work at heights.
- Must be able to wear a respirator.
- Must be a member of the spill team.
- Must be able to work overtime when required (including weekends) & flexible work schedules.
- Capable of teaching skills and procedures to coworkers.
- Must have computer skills.
- Must be capable of multi-tasking and have excellent time management skills.
