The Integrated Solutions portfolio in the Protected Communications Systems (PCS) business area has an immediate need for a Program Manager (Value Stream Leader (VSL)) in our growing portfolio to support the recent win of Navy Aircraft program.

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Program Manager to lead the large engineering-focused Compute and Production Integrated Product Team.  

The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge and expertise in Program Management, with a proven track record of successfully leading medium to large sized teams in the aerospace and defense industry. As the Compute & Production IPT Lead, your responsibilities encompass the full end to end lifecycle of product development, from shaping new business to development and production. This IPT will be responsible for the following:

  • Identification & procurement through external vendors to deliver compute infrastructure items that meet stringent environmental requirements (ruggedized servers, monitors, clients, single board computers, etc..). This will include working with RTX internal hardware teams and Subject Matter Experts to select, modify and qualify components. 

  • Lead internal RTX production activities for this program to include ensuring material procurement and build activities are completed on cost/schedule targets.

  • Working closely with adjacent AEHF production business to ensure AEHF purchased products are delivered within program cost & schedule. This IPT Leader will represent the program and deliverables to the Internal AEHF business and will report execution metrics and use those metrics to drive performance.

This role includes developing program plans, schedules and budgets, as well as managing customer relationships and ensuring adherence to program goals and objectives. A successful candidate will have experience leading teams through production activities and Modified Off the Shelf activities. 

The role will serve as a key leader for successful execution of the Compute & Production IPT, setting the direction, leadership, and management for execution of development, production, growth, and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) commitments for the IPT with profit and loss accountability for all assigned elements within the larger program. The ability to work positively and constructively in a matrix environment, through exceptional influence, strong leadership and stakeholder management is required. 

The Compute and Production IPT PM will report directly the Navy Aircraft Program Manager.

What you will do:

  • Lead all phases of IPT, ensuring adherence to program plans, schedules, and budgets.

  • Responsible for meeting contractual commitments including financial, technical, and schedule performance

  • Utilize Earned Value Management to track program performance and execute

  • Manage, execute, report, and correct production work

  • Lead cross-functional organizations such as contracts, finance, supply chain, operations, quality, etc.

  • Own the customer interface for your IPT, fostering a collaborative "One Team" culture with the customer and ensuring exemplary standards of service and value proposition.

  • Identify and address program problems, supporting solutions to drive value for both our company and our customers

  • Prepare and present internal and external executive-level briefs detailing IPT plans, progress reports, and R&O’s

  • Perform regular program EACs, PMRs and business forecasting reviews

  • Interface with multiple internal and geographically dispersed team members, ensuring consistent and effective communication

  • Ensure staffing identified and functionally allocated to meet program/business milestones.  Work closely with functional management to ensure skillsets are properly identified

  • Engage directly in associated business strategy, vision and program execution.

  • Collaborate with Navy Aircraft PM to develop program growth strategies focused on creating value added ECPs and meeting the program AOP

  • Support and direct ECP and new business capture and proposal
