JOB OVERVIEW:
CNC Programmer is responsible for operating and programming assigned CNC machinery, effectively and in a timely manner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Reading and interpreting technical blueprints and design models.
Troubleshooting issues during the manufacturing process.
Creating instructions for machinists.
Making calculations for programming including sequence of operations, cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and cutting methodologies.
Communicating with engineers and CNC operators.
Evaluates completed programs by running simulations or tests.
Modifying existing programs for increased efficiency.
Complies with all safety rules and regulations.
Other tasks as assigned by the Manager
WORK EXPERIENCE:
7+ years CNC Machinist experience with 3+ years programming, Espirit, Surfcam and Mastercam, Virtual for Rollamatic a plus, Unisom (applications
Knowledge of multiple CNC machinery
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Certificate from college or technical school specific to CNC Machine Operation a plus
Certificate from college or technical school specific to programming CNC machines or equivalent experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
Previous experience as a CNC Programmer.
Ability to read and interpret design blueprints.
Extensive experience with computer modeling software.
Strong attention to detail.
Active listening skills.
Must have good problem-solving skills, and highly detail orie
