Job Description

The U.S. Food Safety & Quality Systems (USFSQS) Team is part of the North America Supply Chain function that enables the McDonald’s System to connect customers with food they love and trust. Primary responsibilities include:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver technical understanding and business insight to provide solutions against prioritized continuous improvement opportunities critical to the customer experience and enablement of transformational business initiatives while ensuring ability to serve safe, consistent, gold standard food and drink
  • Implement, maintain, and improve dedicated food safety and quality systems, focusing on results most meaningful to the customer and business today and for tomorrow (future-proofing)
  • Execution of USFSQS Goals & Key Performance Indicators
  • Leads self and provides lateral or informal leadership across the Three-Legged Stool.
  • Enables Prioritization, Agility & Consistency processes and ways of working, focusing on Driving Results and Outcomes to meet and exceed the unique needs of our crew and customers

Key Needs of the Role

  • Proactive management and oversight of customer satisfaction KPIs/metrics to continuously improve and optimize the Customer Experience performance; Data Integration and Interpretation – translate into “reality” and critical path forward (prioritization)
  • Lead collaboration on and execution of solutions against identified high risk food safety, quality and other applicable brand reputational risks in consultation with escalation/advising from Food Safety, FSQS Performance and Strategy and SC Services teams.
  • Collaborates in development, support, and execution of the department and FSQS Integration plan and scorecard measurements.
  • Maximize impact as a member of the U.S Supply Chain Manager team and across the US and GSC/global business
  • Anticipates current and changing business and customer needs and manages emerging quality and food safety risk
  • Communicate across Three-Legged Stool to influence change, manage issues and improve food safety, quality and overall business system performance
  • Benchmark within and outside of the system, driving FSQS Innovation

The expected salary range for this role is $112,860 – $143,900 per year

Qualifications

  • Leadership and individual skills required: ability to build trust and credibility as a valued business partner; assessment of supply chain risks and development of mitigation plans, ability to influence and proactively manage stakeholder expectations through effective communication; effectively leveraging subject matter expertise in support of others and business objectives; and, incorporation of learnings obtained through external networking and benchmarking to drive continuous improvement
  • A track record of building relationships and effectively collaborating with suppliers, cross-functional partners, operators (franchisees) and industry
  • Demonstrated passion and commitment to coaching and developing others
  • 7+ years of food safety program management experience; specific experience in restaurant food safety, quality systems and/or sanitation/hygiene a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in relevant field of study preferred—e.g., food science, food safety, environmental heal
