Area Operations Manager - Janitorial Services

The Area Operations Manager – Janitorial Services is responsible for managing daily janitorial operations across multiple buildings within a designated territory. This role ensures that UG2 service standards are consistently met or exceeded, overseeing staff performance, training, quality assurance, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Supervision
- Oversee janitorial teams across multiple client sites.
- Schedule, train, and manage custodial staff, including supervisors and frontline workers.
- Monitor attendance, productivity, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Operations Management
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure cleanliness and compliance with contract specifications.
- Coordinate staffing levels based on client needs and site requirements.
- Oversee inventory management, including cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for building managers and clients.
- Address and resolve service issues promptly and professionally.
- Participate in regular meetings and provide updates to clients and senior management.
- Compliance & Safety
- Enforce safety standards and ensure team members follow OSHA and UG2 safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of training, inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Reporting & Administration
- Prepare and submit reports on service performance, labor hours, and inspections.
- Support budgeting, cost control, and labor forecasting initiatives.
Qualifications
- Experience:
Minimum of 1–3 years in a janitorial or facilities services supervisory role, preferably overseeing multiple sites. - Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in management or related field preferred. - Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in scheduling, timekeeping, and basic administrative tasks.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with facility management software is a plus.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
