Summary of Job Duties:

The Orthopedic & Spine Hospital (TOSH), UAMS Health’s brand-new surgical hospital is looking for passionate patient care technicians who are ready to join a team that’s redefining quality care. The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a trained member of the unit-based team who supports the on-going delivery of care as identified by the multidisciplinary Patient Management Team. The PCT works under the direct supervision of the R.N. and performs tasks and duties which do not require a license, professional judgment or intervention. The PCT must pass the required competencies.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School, GED or formal educational equivalent.
  • Health Care Experience. Patient Care Experience. Certified Nursing Assistant or Military Corpsman.
  • Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, strong work ethics and accountability.
  • Experience in an ambulatory care setting.​
  • Successful completion of patient care technician course is required within 3 months of employment.
  • CPR Certified/Licensed.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares patient rooms for patients.

  • Assists with medical procedures and examinations.

  • Conducts patient interviews, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and phlebotomy.
