Information System Security Officer (Part-Time)

WWC Federal is seeking a part-time Information System Security Officers (ISSO) for a fully funded contract supporting the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) Office of Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment (OSHE).
Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Planning, implementing, upgrading, or monitoring security measures for the protection of computer networks and information.
- Ensuring appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure.
- Responding to computer security breaches and viruses.
- Providing Information Security Support for a COTS product to meet TSA’s specific requirements, to serve as the centralized repository for all safety, health, and workers’ compensation information.
- ISSO shall be responsible for maintaining the security posture for the system throughout the entire life cycle of the system. This responsibility includes overseeing and implementing IT security controls and ensuring that the system complies with TSA and DHS mandated security requirements.
- Overseeing each information system within an organization per DHS MD 4300.1, Information Technology Systems Security, and TSA MD 1400.3, TSA Information Security Policy.
- Obtaining appropriate certification from TSA within three months of the contract signature date.
- Attending all TSA meetings where ISSO attendance is required.
- Acting as the Primary POC for security-related questions, and for managing POAMS (Plan of Action and Milestones) identified during audits, and their management into TAF (Trusted Agent FISMA).
- Performing periodic reviews to ensure compliance with cybersecurity, information security and privacy requirements.
- Ensuring the team complies with Federal, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security, sensitive information handling, and privacy guidelines in effect at the time of the award of the contract, as well as those requirements that may be added during the contract.
- Performing periodic reviews to ensure compliance with cybersecurity, information security and privacy requirements.
- Confirming the team complies with proper DHS and TSA security controls to ensure that the Government's security requirements are met.
- Ensuring all team staff members have the required level of approved security clearance commensurate with the sensitivity of the information being accessed, stored, processed, transmitted, or otherwise handled by the system or required to perform the work stipulated by the contract.
This position is part-time with the anticipation of an average of 25 hours per week. Only available as a W-2 employee.
Expected salary range: $1,625 - $1,875 per week or the equivalent of $65 - $75 per hour on average of 25 hours per week.
Work Environment:
- Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).
- Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to sit, stand, talk, and hear.
- Employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to operate a computer.

Travel:
- 10% / Minimal Travel.
