Job Summary:

Compass Group, the world’s largest contract foodservice company, has a great opportunity for career development and growth here at its North America headquarters in Charlotte, NC as a Senior Manager of Training & Quality supporting the Accounting Services teams. This individual will need to build strong relationships across the accounting services organization, create engaging and effective trainings on technical (controls, processes, accounting, etc.) and soft skills, enhance documentation and develop ongoing key financial controls training, and leverage other training teams. This role is part of an exciting new team where you can help build the culture, purpose, and mission while having a great impact on the organization.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop Training & Quality Sr. Specialist/Specialist(s) supporting the Accounting Services Teams.
  • Coordinate and organize the Regional & Operational Controller training programs, including scheduling, organizing, and surveying for feedback.
  • Responsible for ensuring high quality training for new Accounting Services associates, which includes a week of training followed up by periodic refresher courses for Field Accounting associates. This includes scheduling, organizing, and facilitating as needed.
  • Lead in the documentation and maintenance of live ongoing trainings and asynchronous MyLMS trainings
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and offer continuous improvement; communicate results and recommend strategies.
  • Develop and facilitate soft skills training and financial controls training. 
  • Determine training gaps and needs for Accounting Services associates with management team and associates. This can be done through observation, surveying, or interviews. 
  • Contribute and participate in the creation and/or delivery of e-learning solution by utilizing Articulate Storyline 360
  • Research new technologies and methodologies as it pertains to workplace learning.
  • Support standardization of processes across the department.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills needed to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and working knowledge of SAP preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a structured workload to ensure maximum effectiveness in working with business partners and team members.
  • Understanding of e-learning techniques.
  • Ability to work independently, think creatively, manage own time, and take initiative to successfully drive projects to completion, particularly in a fast-paced environment.

 

Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Five years of accounting/finance experience (public accounting and/or industry); Compass experience preferred.
  • Management experience required
  • Previous training experience preferred, but not required 
  • CPA or pursuing CPA preferred, but not required
  • Solid understanding of IFRS and/or USGAAP accounting principles
