Part-Time Adjunct Instructor in Geography

Soka University of America (SUA), Aliso Viejo, California, and the Environmental Studies Concentration invites applications to fill a Part-Time Adjunct Instructor position in Geography to teach one course in the fall semester of 2025 (starting September 3, 2025). This course should explore issues related to geography such as water resources, climate change, regional geography, sustainability, sustainable agriculture, or landscape ecology to name a few, contingent upon student enrollment. The exact focus of the course can be tailored to the instructor’s own disciplinary strengths.

 

The successful candidate will have a strong record of teaching, with a demonstrated understanding of the interdisciplinary curriculum in the liberal arts tradition. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to engage students in active learning in our small (average 14-student) classes.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a background in geography or a related field and a M.A., M.S. or Ph.D. in a relevant field and experience teaching at the college level.
