Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a talented Environmental Project Manager for immediate employment in our Piscataway, NJ or Conshohocken, PA offices. Imagine making a positive impact in your community while working on rewarding projects, such as environmental investigation, remediation, or compliance projects. Working at AECOM means being part of a global team and collaborating with award-winning professionals around the globe. In this role you will be responsible for managing AECOM staff, subcontractors, technical delivery, stakeholder engagement and communication, and financial management. This is a hybrid position, located in the Northeastern geography.

Responsibilities for this position may include the following:

  • Understand site investigation and remediation techniques to drive solutions for our clients.
  • Determine and define project scope and objectives.
  • Manage all phases of projects (from initiation to close-out).
  • Predict resource needs and manage resources effectively.
  • Monitor project performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Make sound, well-informed and objective decisions with a strong understanding of the impact and implications of decisions.
  • Provide technical oversight and quality control.
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
  • Identify, mitigate, and manage project risks.
  • Advise/mentor less experienced staff on project management skills.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements

    • BA/BS plus 2 years of relevant work experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
    • US Citizen/Permanent Resident

    Preferred Qualifications

    • BS in engineering, geology, environmental science or related field.
    • 4+ years of experience in site investigation, remediation, and project management
    • PE or PG preferred
    • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
    • PMP certification or ability to obtain certification.
    • Experience successfully managing environmental projects for various types of clients.
    • Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication, both verbal and written skills.
    • Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on time and on budget project delivery.
    • AECOM PM Certification
    • Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders.
    • Experience and interest in business development.
    • Have led teams of professionals in executing site investigations, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, risk assessment, and treatability studies in support of Federal environmental projects.
    • Environmental compliance experience
