Established in 1970, Eye Care Center of Lake County, Ltd. provides the Gurnee community full-service optometry and ophthalmology services. Through a combination of expert care, advanced technology, and a fully-staffed optical dispensary, patients can expect the highest quality eye care from routine eye exams, refractions for glasses, contact lens exams for contacts to the treatment of cataracts, dry eyes, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. Each and every patient at Eye Care Center of Lake County, Ltd., is treated with the utmost compassion and empathy—as if they were a member of the family.

What you'll do:

You'll practice full-scope optometry with a variety of patient encounters, including primary eye care, refracting, contact lens fitting, medical and post-operative care. Supported by an excellent and well-trained staff, you'll provide the following:

  • Outpatient care for patients with eye-related disorders and conditions
  • Conduct routine eye examinations
  • Determine each patient's visual acuity, field of vision, and hand-eye coordination
  • Accurately record detailed medical histories for all patients, including current and past prescription medications
  • Evaluate eye-related symptoms, such as discharge, redness, and inflammation
  • Prescribe corrective lenses when required (glasses and/or contacts)
  • Refer patients to board-certified Ophthalmologists when required for more holistic eye care
  • Promote proper eye care and good eye health through patient education

The daily practice flow consists of 16 to 18 patient exams. The position is either part-time or full-time.

Additionally, you must possess in-depth knowledge of eye-related disorders, conditions, and treatment. The ideal candidate is customer-service oriented with excellent analytical and communication skills and excited to integrate new techniques and innovations that improve patient care and services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Optometry license in the state of Illinois

Preferred Specialties:

  • In-depth knowledge of eye-related disorders, conditions, and treatments
