Chief Medical Officer (community clinic), MD Licensure in NYS

About the role

FlexStaff is seeking an experienced Medical Doctor with NYS MD Licensure to join our client outpatient healthcare center that provides primary care, dental, behavioral health, OB/GYN, and other community-based wellness services for their location in Queens, NY.

In this role, you will provide medical leadership in identifying and implementing effective and efficient ambulatory care services that meet the needs of the Center’s patient population.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an approved medical school 

  • M.D. Licensure in New York State 

  • Board eligible in Primary Care Specialty or Master in Health Administration: Board Certification preferred.

  • Experience in Community Health Care Center or other community oriented ambulatory health care setting.

 

 

Responsibilities include but not limited to: 

  • Develops and implements the Center’s Health Care Plan with the CEO. 

  • Oversees coordination between clinical and ancillary services. 

  • Leads medical staff recruitment and retention. 

  • Supervises and evaluates all medical personnel. 

  • Manages third-party vendor contracts and performance. 

  • Oversees medical staff scheduling. 

  • Coordinates clinical training and provider meetings. 

  • Establishes and maintains medical protocols and quality assurance processes. 

  • Ensures compliance with medical/legal requirements and updates department policies. 

  • Monitors clinical data, patient utilization, and staff productivity. 

  • Coordinates care with other medical facilities to ensure continuity of care. 

  • Provides patient care one to two days per week and as needed at other sites. 

  • Reports on medical services to the CEO as requested. 

  • Attends Board and community meetings as requested. 

  • Ensures compliance with NYS DOH Article 28, HRSA 330, after-hours coverage, and FQHC quality measures. 

  • Promotes 340B program awareness and use of the in-house pharmacy. 

  • Works with credentialing to ensure compliance with record retention and HIPAA requirements. 

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
