Advisory Associate, Forensic Technology - Summer 2024 (Houston)

Job Summary:

The Associate will be responsible for assisting with data analytics, computer forensics and e-Discovery projects resulting from the identification, collection and processing of electronically stored information (ESI) and large volumes of data. Responsibilities will include developing work plans for clients, processing data, assisting the project manager, researching trends, and new tools. The candidate should have an understanding and working knowledge of the e-Discovery marketplace.

Job Duties:

• Assists with data analytics, computer forensics and e-discovery projects
• Supports the FTS Project Managers who provide consulting services to FTS hosted clients  
• Analyzes and solves a wide variety of complex and challenging issues 
• Works as part of a highly trained team of technical and business professionals 
• Works with project managers to apply legal technology solutions to business problems
• Assists with processing and loading ESI into review platforms and prepares documents for review including keyword searches, de-duplication and review platform configuration
• Assists with loading large datasets into SQL or Access databases Conducts analyses of large datasets as case-specific and appropriate, including preparing and running queries
• Plans engagements to ensure engagement metrics are achieved
• Travel required as necessary
• Other duties as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent, required
• Bachelor’s degree, preferred

Experience:

• One (1) year of experience in the legal field in e-discovery, litigation support, or other, similar field, required
• Experience working with project managers on business solutions, required

License/Certifications:

• Any certification in Relativity, RelOne, iConect, Brainspace, and/or H5 Matter Analytics, preferred
• Any certification in Microsoft SQL Server, preferred

Software:

• Experience with Litigation Support Software and its practical applications (e.g., Relativity, Brainspace, Reveal, H5 Matter Analytics, iConect, and/or Sentio), required
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and relational database logic, required
• Coding language or advanced software skills (e.g. SQL programming, Microsoft Access), preferred

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and basic research skills related to the retrieval and organization of high volumes of information
• Solid organizational skills especially ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details
• Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously 
• Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm 
• Capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with internal personnel
• Ability to encourage team environment on engagements and contribute to the professional development of assigned personnel

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

California Range: $20.00/hr - $36.00/hr
Washington Range: $20.00/hr - $36.00/hr
