About the role

If you are a COMPENSATION professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you!  As the Manager of Executive Compensation, you will play a critical role in shaping and optimizing our organization’s total rewards strategy. You’ll design competitive and innovative compensation programs and support the creation of high-quality materials for the Compensation Committee. Reporting directly to the Director of International & Executive Compensation, you will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and drive initiatives that attract, retain, and motivate top talent.

As a Manager of Executive Compensation, YOU WILL:

  • Collaborate with the Director of International & Executive Compensation to design and execute executive compensation programs
  • Evaluate and recommend changes to executive pay structures, short- and long-term incentives, and equity-based compensation
  • Drive transformation initiatives related to rewards, ensuring they are agile, data-driven, and aligned with business needs
    • Consult with HR business partners to migrate processes/work flows in alignment with the HR operating model
    • Execute multi-year plans in support of Total Reward, HR, and business transformation 
    • Develop and deliver clear and concise communications related to compensation and rewards changes
    • Educate HRBPs, managers, and employees on compensation policies, guidelines, and program details
  • Conduct regular market research to stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging compensation strategies
  • Benchmark our compensation programs against industry peers and adjust as needed
  • Support the creation of high-quality materials for the Compensation Committee
  • Support M&A due diligence and integration
  • Lead communications efforts regarding executive compensation programs
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to compensation

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS: 

  • Prior experience managing executive compensation in a publicly-traded company
  • Experience with executive compensation and equity programs
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret market data
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Experience with organizational change and implementation of new TR programs & processes
  • Outstanding organizational skills and a can-do demeanor that shows persistence despite obstacles and setbacks
  • Willingness and flexibility to take on special projects in support of the broader HR agenda and strategy
  • Ability to produce quality results in a highly matrixed, fast-paced environment
  • Maintains composure and efficiency in stressful situations
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS: 

  • Seven (7) years of progressive Compensation experience 
  • Prior experience in a large global company and/or in reward consulting
  • Prior experience in a private-equity portfolio company
  • Prior experience supporting M&A and/or taking a company through an IPO
  • Experience with Workday HCM
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation is a plus

Location:

Ideally, this role will be based in St. Louis.  However, the role can be hybrid/flexible with candidates willing to travel on a regular basis to St. Louis and/or other company locations. St. Louis is the host of Copeland's global corporate headquarters.
