Job Description

We are seeking a candidate who is pursuing a B.S. degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering and is entering their senior year of studies, with plans to graduate at the conclusion of the 2025/2026. 

The position will involve assisting with construction and engineering project analysis, research, data entry, compiling documentation, and other project assistance as required by the experts.  

This internship will be based in Dallas, TX, with perhaps occasional meetings at any other regional location with a SOCOTEC representative. 

The Mechanical/Chemical Engineering Intern will report directly to Mark Landrum, P.E., Managing Director of SOCOTEC. The intern will assist Mr. Landrum in the engineering and technical analysis of issues or problems in energy industry projects relevant to his roles as a: 

  • Technical Expert (Process Engineering or Project Management) for dispute resolution, such as arbitration or litigation, representing a claimant or respondent. 

  • Process Safety Management (PSM) Consultant, assisting with safety reviews of major projects during the detail engineering phase as part of a project advisory role. 

  • Additional duties may include: 

    ·         In-depth research of construction and engineering defect cases 

    ·         Review/Analysis of construction project documentation (daily reports, costs, schedules, drawings, P&ID's, change orders, etc) 

    ·         Compilation of relevant project documentation for case reports 

    ·         Data entry and organization of construction/engineering project records
