Job Duties

The Director of Admissions & Marketing provides administrative and operational leadership to the Admissions & Marketing Department by overseeing the admissions and marketing operations of the facility to provide for the needs of our Veteran residents. The Director of Admissions & Marketing is responsible for the organization, supervision, and administration of admission and marketing staff to include the direction of workforce, controlling costs, and maintaining organizational relationships. The Director of Admissions & Marketing is responsible for obtaining new admissions and meeting proper payer mix goals through building and developing external business leads and relationships. They also serve as a contact for all post admissions.

Please note that the position does require applicant to telework and work off-site as needed. The position may also require travel across the state to meet and interface with other state-owned long term care facilities or to generate prospective residents.

• Plans, coordinates, executes, and supervises all daily activities of the Admissions and Marketing Department.
• Establishes and implements goals, objectives, operational standards, and procedures for the department.
• Conduct customer service needs assessments and meet quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Determines staffing requirements and interviews, hires, and trains new employees or oversees these processes to ensure successful staffing.
• Plans, directs, and coordinates a comprehensive marketing and sales program designed to obtain new admissions.
• Works closely with the Center Administrator to develop sales and marketing plans.
• Builds and maintains an external network of peers and customers to share information and obtain prospective residents.
• Conducts external sales calls and represent the Center as an industry leader at any off-site events attended for the purpose of lead generation.
• Maintains referral sources and leads of medical, insurance, and financial professionals, senior organization members, special interest groups, and hospital discharge planners.
• Maintains documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Prepares reports as need for the Quality Assurance Committee and attends management meetings as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid Virginia Registered Nurse License
• 3-5 Years prior experience as a RN
• 1 Year prior experience in Nursing Management position.
• Considerable knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling services.
• Knowledge of marketing strategy and tactics, service demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
• Demonstrated clinical knowledge of services, which may be provided in a skilled nursing care/rehabilitation facility.
• Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
• Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service to both external and internal customers.
• Demonstrated ability to interface with customers across multiple platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively employ time management techniques and respond to requests quickly.
• Ability to effectively communicate both written and orally.

Additional Considerations

• Previous experience in a long-term care/skilled nursing or adult geriatric setting is preferred.
• In lieu of a RN License, a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Financial Management, or related field will be considered with demonstrated ability to perform the assigned duties of the positions and considerable experience working in the field of sales and marketing.
